In reading the minutes of the Bulletin it mentioned several times in regard to accepting AKC-only dogs that their lawyer emphasized "the Club can make its own rules, but the rules must be applied equally across the membership." I was wondering if someone could explain what this means? To me, it says that you cannot require AKC-only dogs to be health tested if you don't require the same of CKCSC dogs. Or I am intrpreting it wrong?
And, as a pet owner, No one has surveyed me to find I would vote for AKC acceptance, and for allowing only breeders to vote on breeding decisions. I don't want to get a dog from a breeder who tests, I want a dog from a breeder who knows how to best utilize the test information along with all the other information available so they are able to do everything possible to produce a healthy, temperment & structurally sound dog that looks like a Cavalier should.
