I think that the research program needs to be written a certain way. Seems like I remember the author of the CompuPed program mentioning something about boolean logic-- it was originally a DOS program. However, the Breed Mate program is written for Windows and is more of a spreadsheet type--like Access or Excel. Now, I may be wrong about this as I am not a computer programmer.
They are re-doing the CompuPed program into a more user friendly Windows type. I hope that they don't lose the research properties in the process.
