Hi Ronan,
If you are looking at 2.6.5 then you can use SuSE's SP2 since that has ckrm +
accept queue patches. Otherwise you can use the patches

I would like to test the network features of CKRM. What are the last
patches for "Multiple accept queue" and to what kernel I shoul apply
it?
I tried to use the patches to 2.6.5
00-core.ckrm-E12.patch 03-numtasks.ckrm-E12.patch
01-rcfs.ckrm-E7.patch 04-socketclass.ckrm-E12.patch
02-taskclass.ckrm-E12.patch 05-socketaq.ckrm-E12.patch
They are patches from Apr/2004 and I know there are newer patches, but
what are the last working patch?
With the above patches, I mouted /rcfs and did a insmod ckrm_listenaq.ko.
cat shares, gives me:
bash-2.05b# cat /rcfs/socket_class/s1/shares
res=laq,guarantee=-2,limit=-2,total_guarantee=100,max_limit=100
How do I change the shares?
Once you create s1, you will notice directories under it named 1,2,3 etc.
depending on how you have configured number of accept queues
(CONFIG_ACCEPT_QUEUES) in the networking menu. It is dependent on INET,
NETFILTER and you should turn on the MARK target.
These directories represent the classes and take the shares relative to s1.
Only s1 will have the members/target and so the socket will be moved to s1
and not the sub-directories.
hope this helps.
Vivek
Doing echos in /rcfs/socket_class/s1/shares doesn't make no effect.
bash-2.05b# echo "res=laq,guarantee=30" > shares
bash-2.05b# cat shares
res=laq,guarantee=-2,limit=-2,total_guarantee=100,max_limit=100
I tried with res=laq and res=listenaq.
Doing the same think for res=numtasks and /rcfs/taskclass/c1/shares,
the shares are changed:
bash-2.05b# cat shares
res=numtasks,guarantee=-2,limit=30,total_guarantee=100,max_limit=100
Whats is wrong?
Thanks in regards,
Ronan
