Comparing to helloworld.c, qmail is a piece of shit. Hmmmm....what was your point again? > No bugs were found in qmail since version 1.03, released 1998. This is an extract from the Qmail Blind Faith Bible, which starts "In the beginning, there was Bernstein. In his ultimate wisdom and from his fingers, qmail sprang forth. It had no new versions for many years. And that is all you need from an MTA. Therefore, it is holy and perfect with no shortcomings. And so shall you go forth and preach to the masses!" > how many bugs were discovered in exim since 1998? How many features were added to qmail since 1998? Seriously, MTA-advocacy is *really* not the point here (and even if it was, you could do with broadening your horizons a bit and being a bit more realistic about the pros and cons of various solutions rather than getting religious about one and denouncing other, perfectly respectable, solutions as "shit" which is hardly very constructive). But to get back to the point, if you have substantive concerns about the security of PCRE (or Exim for that matter), this is obviously significant to all of us so why not send a patch or report to Philip Hazel (cc'd to clamav developers to understand the implications for clamav, since that's what we were talking about)? As far as I can see, he is very responsive to bug reports and a model of courtesy to boot. So I'm sure there's nothing that can't be worked through.
