I'm new to clamav. I have one simple suggestion
(though maybe not that simple to implement :-)).
Would it be complex to add another field to the
virus DB that could hold the known name of a virus ?
The problem is that the internal clamav naming
system (as refered to in the FAQ), makes it pretty hard to know which virus
we're talking about (Worm.SomeFool is a good example).
So, as you want to keep the chosen names for the
viruses, it could be nice to have a secondary field that could help build
viruses reports by adding a simple "also known as" information text. This could
be available as soon as the "giants" affect a name to a new virus.
Is this crazy ? Too much work ?
