Thomas Lamy did a wizard job of diagnosing my build problem blind, nailed it dead on (my bad gmp build); with that behind me, and a little care to twiddle how I'm using clamdscan, all's swell.
I'm using clamdscan from my ~/.procmailrc. I was using
:0HB
* ! ? clamdscan-wrapper --quiet --mbox -
clamav/
with 0.75. 0.80 doesn't like the --mbox, and I don't want to toss
stuff for which clamd has errors, only positively known viruses, so
I changed that to
:0HB
* ? clamdscan-wrapper --quiet -
clamav/
with a nice trivial clamdscan-wrapper:
#!/bin/sh
clamdscan ${1+"$@"}
exit `test $? -eq 1`
