I never ran libtoolize nor autoreconf.

I don't know if it matters but the only version of libtool we have
available on FreeBSD ports is 1.5.26.

Anyway, the current ports version (20081105) build without
any problems, something happened between 05 and 14 Nov
that make it stop building.
