[clamav-users] sudden ERROR 50

ive just downloaded an update of virusdb nov14 (first try this month)
and now emails are being quarantined with
virus scanner failure /usr/bin clamscan (error code: 50)
all was well and I dont know what has broken.
i tried..
1. clamscan from command line (RH7.1) and it works
2. chmod 777 /usr� /usr/share� /usr/share/clamav (ok i was
desperate!)
3. rm virus* and re-downloading
all to no avail
any help would be GREATLY appreciated
