Next (0.60) version of freshclam will download additional information about
new signatures - a type (virus, worm, backdoor,..), possible names and
others. Currently the most names are 'standard', but in some cases
they're not - sometimes the unix scanners (sweep, uvscan and others with
actual dbs) I have access to don't detect the virus and the signature name
is based on a file content.
