IMHO Clamav is excellent software. That is why we support it in our
smtp-vilter software. We do, however, think that the solution to decide
if a file is an e-mail message in libclamav based solely on the
beginning of the file is a bit sloppy.

Off course we do insert a line containing "From " at the beginning of
every e-mail message we hand over to Clamav. But there should be better
ways (RFC-822 compliant ways, to be exact) to detect if a file contains
an e-mail message. Or at least it should be possible to affirmatively
tell clamav that a file *is* an e-mail message.
