we are running clamd devel-20031125 with exim 4
its a modified redhat box with kernel 2.4.20 on dual athlon hardware
clamd when running fine:
# pstree
init-+-3dmd---3dmd---3*[3dmd]
|-bdflush
|-clamd---clamd---clamd
|-crond
...
clamd when not answering to the exim requests and so blocking exim:
(so happening every second to fourth hour)
# pstree
init-+-3dmd---3dmd---3*[3dmd]
|-bdflush
|-clamd---clamd
|-3*[clamd]
|-crond
|-exim-+-50*[exim]
| `-exim---exim
we built a script do check if clamd is running like in pstree (1),
and if not we kill it and start a new one
but this can not be the final solution
netstat shows that there are still processes forked on requests
to clamd but they don't work as they should
the system has high load, processing many thousand mails per hour
any good idea?
