Hello, I'm proud to announce a really huge virus database update. During Christmas, our virus database maintainer Denis De Messemacker created over 7700 signatures (using sigtool, of course) from his virus collection.
The signatures have been tested against 100 GB data of random files.
Also they have been optimized in the context of memory usage. After the
update, ClamAV should be as fast as now but the memory usage
will increase by about 1.7 MB. That's why you should observe your
systems and expecially Qmail-Scanner users should increase their
softlimit.
The main database will be updated by the Wednesday afternoon.
