For some reason, the milter is unable to connect to the spamd daemon. If you are not running the latest stable release of clamav, you should try it. If you are, then try the 0.70-rc release. If you feel brave, you can try a current CVS snapshot. I'm using a snapshot from April 01 2004 and it's working great (but ones between 0.70-rc and March 30 did not work as well for me). There was a bug found in the libclamav (look in the changelog for release mutex) that seems to have stabilized everything for me. It was found between 0.70-rc and March 31 2004, but I don't remember exactly when. By any chance, are you using RedHat 9.0? Blue skies...
