I have to run it as root as I am using it in co-ordination with qmail
and qmail-scanner. Unfortunately clamd's user qscand does not have the
necessary permission's to scan mail from qmail's scan directory. I have
therefore changed the user to root in order to satisy this requirement.

It works perfectly at the moment, my only concern is any potential
security risks at the moment. I am also looking into running clamd
under supervise at the moment too.

Thanks;
