I am using clamscan not clamdscan. I tried the clamdscan but in testing found that virus email got through. I will give it another shot. I am looking into using rblsmtpd to help off load some of the email coming in. I do not know much about it's logging and white-listing abilities yet. (sales people are paranoid about a possible email lost) I have to make sure they know what email are blocked and from who.
