I haven't seen the result of you attaching gdb to the running clamd
process yet. Did you do that? If it crashes do a backtrace.

fyi, i upgraded from 0.80 release to yesterday's daily snapshot and am experiencing no more problems. no lockups, no aborts, no crashes. so, whatever it was was fixed between release and yesterday.
