Maybe someone can suggest a solution for me because I am at my wits
end. I have a qmail server running Clam 0.81 (upgrade to .82 pending)
which intermittantly gives errors to servers trying to pass mail on to
it. The first Exceprt is from one of my office servers trying to send
a mail to the problematic server. The second is what the other server
logs in /var/log/maillog
Excerpt from relay server:

I have checked permission on every file that is even vaguely related
to clamd and to qmail scanner and they are all correct as far as I can
tell. Running clamd as root produces the same error so i think i can
discount permissions as the problem.
The load on the server is not high so I can't blame resources:
