i cannot upgrade my version .80 ... if i do clam stops dectecting virus i
have tried with bother .81 and then .82 is it worth tring with .83 or am
i going to have to put version .80 back on again this is getting quite
frustrating i follow the upgrade instuctions exactly

I imagine you have old libraries from .80 left over when you upgrade, or you didn't edit /etc/clamd.conf after the upgrade...

But, give us some more details: platform you are running on (uname -a is
often helpful), and method of upgrade (source, RPM, ?)

yes i did all of that .... its a source upgrade im running slackware with qmail, spamassin and blackhole...

all works fine with v.80 but any other no virus is detected ... even restarted the server after the upgrades ... also stopped the services before the upgrade and closed the mail ports with the firewall so there no way qmail could even accept any mail during the up grade i had no probs going from 7x to 80but cant get any further
