Believe you me, you are not alone on that line of thought. There is no way on earth I would allow a production machine to update automatically. In all honesty, (Fajar excluded, I enjoyed your response too much :), anyone who would contemplate an unnattended update on something at that level would, if it were my choice, be looking for a new job nigh on straight away. To be perfectly honest, I cannot see why this discussion has led this far. If it were a gargantuan task to upgrade Clam, then fine. But as is, it is a five to ten minute task at most.
