Heh, didn't Norton detect windows as a virus at one time?
A subsequent scan with a standalone utility from an AV vendor showed no sign of the viruses in that directory.
This doesn't necessarily mean anything.
What I would do is do a online scan (I highly recommend http://housecall.trendmicro.com)
If you are indeed compromised, there's a chance your AV may be as well
