How are you defining the milter in sendmail.mc?
The docs say that you should add a "define('confINPUT_MAIL_FILTERS','clmilter) " after "INPUT_MAIL_FILTER("clmilter',...)
if you did this - remove the define entry - it is redefines the milter and causes problems.
