Last Tuesday I updated from Clamav 0.83 to Clamav 0.85.1 (Blastwave
package). My server runs Solaris 9 and sendmail 8.13.3 (also
blastwave). Clamav-milter runs with these flags:
# cat /opt/csw/etc/clamav-milter
-q -lo /opt/csw/run/clmilter.sock
--sendmail-cf=/opt/csw/etc/mail/sendmail.cf
(standalone milter, no clamd)
I'm invoking freshclam from cron with no parameters.
Whenever freshclam finds an updated virus signature, clamav-milter
dies a few minutes later with these errors:
LibClamAV Warning: Not reloading database until idle - waiting for 5 children
LibClamAV Warning: Not accepting inputs at the moment
LibClamAV Warning: Not accepting inputs at the moment
[...]
LibClamAV Warning: Waiting for 5 children until databae reload
LibClamAV Warning: Not accepting inputs at the moment
LibClamAV Warning: Not accepting inputs at the moment
and so on until I manually stop clamav-milter and sendmail and restart
I feel like I missed a configuration parameter somewhere ... but not
finding it in TFM.
Please advise!
My older server, running Solaris 8 and sendmail 8.12.6, was upgraded
at the same time to clamav 0.85.1 and is not experiencing this
problem.

PS I am also seeing some difference in the clamav headers, when mail
passes through both servers:
Server without a problem:
X-Virus-Scanned: ClamAV 0.85.1/938/Tue Jun 14 04:59:24 2005 on
mail.gsd.harvard.edu
Server with a problem is no longer showing the sig database version:
X-Virus-Scanned: ClamAV version 0.85.1, clamav-milter version 0.85 on ares
