Why do you want to do this anyway? FPs??
I don't want clamav to detect phish mail.
This has been discussed at great length previously, check the archives.
basic notes:
- I believe clamav .90 is to have some sort of pattern ignore list so you
can turn off detection for specific viruses by name, so it should be easy
to ignore *somefool* or *HTML* or *Phish* or some false-positive that
annoys you. No, I don't know the exact method, I'm sure we'll all find
out as .90 comes closer, so don't ask.
- right now if you want to disable some patterns, use sigtool --unpack to
extract the sigs from the .cvd, then use your favorite tool to remove the
sigs you don't want. This can be automated and triggered with freshclam
--on-update-execute=COMMAND.
You can either say "this really sucks" or you can say "good thing there is
a workaround for what I want to do", your choice.
