hello all this is my first posting over here!
i download the latest version that is clamav-0.86.1.tar.gz
i installed it successfully with out milter support.
#./configure --sysconfdir=/etc
#make
#make install
the installation went to /usr/share/clamav
clamd.conf and freshclam.conf went to /etc
now when i issue the command freshclam is says edit the file freshclam.conf
i opened it and commented the word "example". i commented that in
clamd.conf too. but again i issued the command freshclam then now it says.
[EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# freshclam
ERROR: Please edit the example config file /etc//freshclam.conf.
ERROR: You must specify at least one database mirror.
i am not getting hold of this.where do i select the database mirror and
what is it.and how do i prevent the first error { ERROR: Please edit the
example config file /etc//freshclam.conf} to come again. I know that my
configuration is really incomplete but i need some assistance.i am using
clamav for the first time. and one more question i am using sendmail on
redhat9 and i have'nt enabled milter support.will the clamav still work
and be effectfull.Can any one give me a clearer view.
