Dear Gregory A. Cain
you must edit /etc/logrotate.d/freshclam and
/etc/logrotate.d/clamd
find for create 640 clamav clamav
change it to
create 640 qscand qscand and then check permission for directory /var/log/clamav , /var/lib/clamav must have permistion to qscand

Subject: [Clamav-users] Permissions problems w/qmail, qmail-scanner, clamav

Greetings,

Recently I installed qmail, qmailscanner, clamav, spamassassin per the 'qmail rocks' site. The installation is on a Fedore Core 3 server. Everything is working fine with one big exception, and that is that when /var/log/clamav/clamd.log and - freshclam.log files are archived and rotated, the owner of the new log files is clamav, not qscand. This is (obviously) creating problems when it occurs.

I've checked to make sure:

/usr/sbin/clamav processes is owned by qscand
/etc/clamd.conf has the line "User qscand"

I've posted a request at the qmailrocks forum, but have had no response. Any hints as to how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
