Hello list.
I've install clam in 4 redhat servers and everything looks fine.
Yesterday I install clam on fedora v3 and I discover that milter dosent
clean Sober.U worm.
I think you meant "Detect", not clean :)
I run sigtool -l|grep -i Sober.U with no results.
Freshclam's report:
ClamAV update process started at Tue Nov 29 11:51:23 2005
main.cvd is up to date (version: 34, sigs: 39625, f-level: 5, builder:
tkojm)
daily.cvd is up to date (version: 1197, sigs: 1664, f-level: 6, builder:
tomek)
smtp ~ # sigtool -l|grep -i Sober.U
Worm.Sober.U
smtp ~ # clamd -V
ClamAV 0.87.1/1197/Tue Nov 29 01:09:01 2005
The funny thing is that the previous servers clean Sober.U worm!!!
What is wrong here?
My guess is that your freshclam doesn't use the same DatabaseDirectory
(check freshclam.conf) with the rest of your system.
AFAIK, clamscan and sigtool uses the database directory defined at build
time (you can overide clamscan's behaviour with "-d"), whereas clamd and
freshclam read settings from clamd.conf and freshclam.conf, respectively.
I suggest that you :
- check your system for old installations of clamav, and remove them.
Perhaps you use RPM package (installed on /usr) but have old manual
build laying around (installed on /usr/local), or vice versa.
- check *clam*.conf to verify that they all use the same database directoy
