sorry for not give complete information i'm installing from source try to keep update with the cvs version. this never happen to me before , everything just went smoothly on my FreeBSD boxes. anyway this is the current version of my clamav installation: core# clamd -V ClamAV devel-20060112/1238/Wed Jan 11 17:19:06 2006 core# freshclam -V ClamAV devel-20060112/1238/Wed Jan 11 17:19:06 2006 as you can see my clamav is uptodate. but when i tried to start the clamd proccess or update the virus db, it will warn me bout the outdated version core# freshclam -v Current working dir is /usr/local/share/clamav Max retries == 3 ClamAV update process started at Thu Jan 12 13:58:21 2006 Querying current.cvd.clamav.net TTL: 820 Software version from DNS: 0.88 main.cvd version from DNS: 35 main.cvd is up to date (version: 35, sigs: 41649, f-level: 6, builder: tkojm) daily.cvd version from DNS: 1238 daily.cvd is up to date (version: 1238, sigs: 471, f-level: 7, builder: diego) WARNING: Current functionality level = 6, recommended = 7 Please check if ClamAV tools are linked against proper version of libclamav DON'T PANIC!
