I know, I use them as second choice.

The client (freshclam) network you mean?  I don't think so, I saw the same long
delays from 2 different servers on different networks (different ISP and
routes), but there's been a while.

Thanks, I'll check the logs after June and see if things improved or not.  I
usually get an email from cron when freshclam has a problem, and lately there
have not been many of those messages so it seems to be working better, I just
remember the constant change of servers they did a while ago: the DNS record
pointed to a server that was disabled, then to another, then back to the first,
some of them were the real slow ones.
