yep, clamscan is linked right with Amavisd.
I'm going to change over to clamd.
Just trying to find out how to do this.
I'm guessing to disable I need to change something in Amavis and
postfix/master.cf
Currently I'm just trying to start clamd:
ERROR: Please edit the example config file
/private/etc/spam/clamav/clamd.conf.
ERROR: Can't open/parse the config file /private/etc/spam/clamav/clamd.conf
Top posting buggers the logical flow of the message.
If you've never edited the clamd.conf file then you are not sufficiently
educated in how it works. As a minimum there is a line in that file that
has to be commented out or deleted or clamd will never run. Additionally
you have to identify a valid user it will run as, and also how external
tools will communicate with it. This would be via unix socket or tcpip
socket, for example, and additionally you identify either a socket
location or ip/port. This has to be repeated in the freshclam.conf file
so clamd can be notified when new patterns are downloaded.
There are a number of other options in the conf file that need to be
selected or deselected depending on your needs. You really need to
review the docs at this point to ensure your installation does what you
expect.
