Hi,
From clamdscan manual, the command that need to be used to scan a file:
clamdscan <file>
How do I make clamdscan to use SCAN/CONTSCAN option of clamd for
scanning ? Can this be controlled using clamd.conf or some option in
clamdscan ? Please clarify.
It always uses CONTSCAN (or MULTISCAN if using hardware acceleration).
Hi Ian,
clamdscan man page doesn't indicate any option to specify the scan type
to be used.
what clamdscan option do you use to specify CONTSCAN (or MULTISCAN) ?
There isn't an option, currently. The MULTISCAN command is new in
0.90rc and is only used if support for Sensory Networks NodalCore
hardware acceleration cards is enabled (and was detected at compile
time), and is only used when scanning multiple files or a directory.
(MULTISCAN may be supported as a command-line option on multi-CPU
machines without hardware acceleration in a future version of ClamAV, as
this is mentioned as a "TODO" in the source code.) The CONTSCAN command
is used in all other cases.
