YES. I see emails (30 MB)with scantimes of 80 seconds too, but that's not the normal case. To make it very clear: The speed improvement of clamscan is only the case when it comes to huge emails. (15 MB, 20 MB, 25 MB, 30 MB) These emails are usually one zip-attachment consisting of one to three ISO-8859 text files. If it comes to emails of normal size (below 1 MB) there are no noteworthy differences in terms of speed between my 3 virus scanners. - From my point of view clamscan has made a big leap forward, but that's not enough. In comparison with my other 2 virus scanners clamscan is as lame as a duck. (keep in mind we talk about huge emails only) Looks like clamscan has a problem with large ISO-8859 text files ? > Please would you confirm that my understanding of your statement is correct? To be on the safe side: clamscan 0.90rc2 is at least twice as fast as clamscan 0.88.7 > What was the previous version that you were using? 0.88.7, 0.88.6 and 0.88.3 whereas 0.88.3 has been used for about half a year and 0.88.6 and 0.88.7 has been used for only a few days. In the time i have used clamscan, it was a stable and reliable program.
