After applying a patch discussed previously on this list, I tried to
compile version 0.90rc3 but kept getting an error due to a missing
library (libiconv) so I added it to the configure script via LIBS and
everything compiled nicely with the --enable-experimental.
configure --enable-experimental LIBS="-liconv"
