Yes, but that works around package management. Some people (including me) don't want to do that. And rpmforge is pretty fast with updates to ClamAV. Mainly because every package that I've went there looking for has been horribly out of date. For instance, the last time I went there looking for Syslog-NG, which was, admittedly back in February, was on version 1.x for RHEL/CentOS instead of the current 2.x tree.
