I had version 0.90.1 running with no problems, then updated to 0.90.2. I had a few problems getting it started but I did, and the logs were updating daily with no problems. I had setup in both cases freshclam to be a root cron job hourly. Last Thursday, June 28, 2007 I updated to 0.90.3 and freshclam does not seem to be running anymore. I did not make any changes from the 0.90.2 setup, but when I look at the freshclam.log, the last entry was for June 28 last Thursday. My system log gives the following message:
The ClamAV update process (freshclam daemon) was not running! If you no longer wish to run freshclam, deleting the freshclam.log file will suppress this error message. I don't get any error indication when I run freshclam as root with no options.
