I should add to this a little. I don't have a test system to try
getting this to work and this is why I don't want bring the server
down while trying to get this to work. If anyone has gone through
this switch before I would appreciate any advice I can get.

I?m hoping that someone can shed some light for me here. My current
setup is MailScanner/SpamAssassin/Sendmail/spf-milter and ClamAV .90.3
using clamscan. ClamAV has caused the server to come to a screeching
halt recently due to clamscan timeouts and therefore I had to disable
ClamAV. I want to switch the setup to clamdscan with the clamd
running but my experience with this system is extremely limited. The
documentation seems to be a little vague and with my understanding
being vague as well I?m not getting too far. I believe I understand
the clamd.conf setup enough to get through that setup but the
connections are what I?m having problems with. For example do I need
to replace my spf-milter with clamav-milter for clamd to get my socket
created? If someone can point me in the right directions for all the
necessary steps in this transition I would be very grateful.
