Okay, let's try this again. A new update has been posted that will first try
"date +%s" and if that fails, then it will automatically fall back to a perl
option. I didn't update the version number, just the version info:

Thanks to Dennis Peterson and Jan-Perter Cornet for the perl (and awk/gwak)
lessons, as well! I'm learning that it's never easy to make fully portable
scripts, but as people continue to report issues, I'll continue looking for ways
to do so.
