Since upgrading to 0.91.2 we have been having constant problems
with clamd running up the CPU, and memory.
Over time, I find more and more clamdscan processes sleeping.
I then start to see this in my syslog:
Dec 3 02:12:40 pony-express smtp: [ID 748625 daemon.info] 1196665960.319722
X-Qmail-Scanner-1.25st:[pony-express119666475972219709] Requeuing: Maximum time
exceeded. Something cannot handle this message. at /dev/fd/3 line 616.
Dec 3 02:12:40 pony-express X-Qmail-Scanner-1.25st:
[pony-express119666475972219709] Requeuing: Maximum time exceeded. Something
cannot handle this message. at /dev/fd/3 line 616.
There is no warning in the clamd.log file.
I will suddenly see this:
Mon Dec 3 03:23:43 2007 -> SelfCheck: Database status OK.
Mon Dec 3 03:54:37 2007 -> SelfCheck: Database status OK.
Mon Dec 3 04:01:20 2007 -> ERROR: accept() failed
Mon Dec 3 04:01:20 2007 -> ERROR: accept() failed
Mon Dec 3 04:01:20 2007 -> ERROR: accept() failed
Mon Dec 3 04:01:20 2007 -> ERROR: accept() failed
[..]
until the log file fills up completely.
At that point I start to see this in my syslog:
Dec 3 04:18:47 pony-express smtp: [ID 748625 daemon.info] 1196673527.266636
X-Qmail-Scanner-1.25st:[pony-express119667352572225991] clamdscan: corrupt or
unknown clamd scanner error or memory/resource/perms problem - exit status 512/2
Dec 3 04:18:47 pony-express X-Qmail-Scanner-1.25st:
[pony-express119667352572225991] clamdscan: corrupt or unknown clamd scanner
error or memory/resource/perms problem - exit status 512/2
I have to kill a pile of clamdscan processes and clamd and start it over again.
Has anyone seen anything similar?
My setup is Solaris 9 w/ qmail, spammassassin and clamav 0.91.2
any help would be appreciated.
