Mount the remote Windows box to a directory on the Linux box, use the options to not scan the swap(page) file(s). Use the delete option with caution. Use the Windows file system "scandisk" to make sure the Windows file system is correct and use "defrag" (turn off rearrange to make applications start faster option) to make the scanning faster. Periodically pull the drive out of the Windows machine, delete the swap(page) file(s), the "temporary internet files" and all the .tmp files in the Windows/temp directory, the history files. Watch for multiple swap files. Used to have 30 Windows boxes on the network, now just six, all CAD/CAM boxes. You should scan the Windows boxes over night, every night. _______________________________________________ Help us build a comprehensive ClamAV guide: visit http://wiki.clamav.net http://lurker.clamav.net/list/clamav-users.html
