Seems you're responsible person, that employers can dream about :)
I fully understand you, but you should also understand ClamAV team.
There is established quite well-working realese procedure.
ClamAV is too big and too important software to release version
even if it's just a simple patch. There is a schedule of
releases and each release goes through heavy internal
testing, which requires some time (few days),
so you can't expect them to push a new release.
I also fully understand why you don't want to use
untested patch, that [EMAIL PROTECTED] seems
to encourage you to do.
