Try to reproduce this with clamd (its easier to debug). Run it with 'Foreground yes' and 'Debug yes', and redirect stderr to a file. Then do 'clamdscan --reload' repeatedly a few times. See if there is any message indicating what is wrong in the file, and then pastebin the file.
