But as it's on the user's list, and as there are by now potentially thousands of users who either depend on particular features being as they have been for a while, or who would have to do some work to get things back to working the way they want them to work if the user-visible interface changes in some small way, then I'll just say Oh, no, not again! Please! No! If people feel strongly about their logs (this is a Good Thing) then I recommend syslog-ng.
