Then my best guess is that you are somehow not using the correct ClamAV library or libraries. I can't remember if you said that ClamAV on this system was a totally new installation or if it was upgraded from and older one. If it was an older installtion which has been upgraded, I would guess that some old libraries remain which should be removed.
