Debian 9.7 was released on January 23, 2019. You really should apply updates more than once a year. Trouble with UNRAR scanning is probably a small part of the risk associated with non-updated systems (it'd be less bad if you've been applying security updates and not others, but still there's a lot of bug fixes you're leaving on the table even if it's just the non-security changes).
