I've been uneasy about unofficial-sigs' installation script that doesn't package well. I prefer to install from a package that uses the distro's mechanisms for making system changes (like creating users). (I have the same problem with pihole.) That makes the system easy to uninstall with some confidence that all its effects will be removed. In principle, this system shouldn't need root privileges once its directories are created. For comparison, check out SpamAssassin's 3rd party rule system, which allows rules from KAM to coexist with stock rules.

I'll check outĀ fangfrisch. I'm hoping it has RHEL and Debian packages. Perhaps mini-repos to make updates easy.
