Representatives of scientific and human rights societies, individual scientists and human rights activists, and the media are invited
AAAS has worked with representatives of a wide variety of scientific societies to form a coalition to help scientists become involved with Human Rights.These societies ranged from all-volunteer small organizations like CASPA to large organizations with large staffs like American Psychological, Am. Chemical, Am. Physical, and Am. Statistical.
The attached invitation has links to see what the coalition is about, the agenda for the launch, and how to register for the meeting. It is necessary to register to facilitate logistics such as meeting space and amounts of food.
This is a unique opportunity for scientists from physical, behavioral, social, and other sciences to work together and to work with human rights activists and organizations.
Also, at the shr.aaas.org <snr.aaas.org>page there is a link where scientists of all kinds can volunteer to help with human rights activities. Also, human rights organizations and activists can request volunteers on this page
To get to the AAAS entrance from the 12th Street exit of the Metro Center station go the remainder of the block to H Street (North toward New York Avenue). The entrance will be diagonally across the intersection.
