Just to save other people time, the aforementioned JDK has a broken JNI implementation. Specifically, it doesn't allow a native method to return a Java object. If you do need to use the JDK under GNU/Linux, I suggest you stick with jdk1.1.5v5-980311, which does work. Regarding java.math.BigInteger, I finally have modInverse() and modPow() working for all cases, and a commit will happen with a complete 100% working BigInteger tomorrow.
