It seems that my patch was lost or rejected. In any case at http://www.pg.gda.pl/~abies/Character.java there is a slightly changed version of Character class. Basic change was to skip creation of CharAttr for each request. It makes code a bit less readable, but speeds up execution many, many times. Artur
