I think that I have eneded my crusade to speed up Character class. At
http://www.pg.gda.pl/~abies/classpath
is new Character class and CharGenerator for creating data file.
>From quick tests using mauve unicode test, class is about same fast as
JDK with interpreter and about 30% faster (7s compared to 10s) with tya.
Paul who has to review is currently away, so I post it here - so anybody
can test it and say yes or no to details. I know that making
CharGenerator in java cause bootstrapping problem, but writing it in
anything else would take too much time for me.
