If you really dig math and Java then you might want to try your hand
at writing pure Java classes to translate strings to floats/doubles.
Math isn't my field... especially IEEE math. I think
java.lang.Float/Double are the relevant classes.
But yes, we're lacking some stuff in java.math as Aaron said.
