As far as I can tell, they're trying to get things in place for the
ISO submission. For instance, the wrapper classes for Integer types
now have equivalent functionality for parsing Strings into integers.
StringBuffer and String are more complete.

1.2beta4 should be the last beta, and 1.2 FCS should introduce few API
changes. They're currently working on reducing the memory footprint.
